The amount of water may vary depending on the taste of the person. White Rice Microwave: 1-1/4 cups of water; 1 cup of rice; salt and oil to taste. 1. Put ingredients in a 2 quart pan for microwaves. 2. Cook on high for 5 minutes. 3. Next, cook on medium heat for 10 minutes. 4. Let it rest covered for 5 minutes. The rice should not be uncovered during preparation time.
